South End Boat Shop was founded by John Diaz Sr. in the Pullman area

of Chicago in 1945. In 1947, John moved the business to 115th and South Park Ave. In 1955, John moved the shop again to 114th and Halsted.

Also in 1955, John's son Steve started working at the shop as a mechanic. Steve worked for his father until 1974, when Steve succeeded his father as president and moved the shop to our present location in Frankfort.
We remain family owned and are now managed by the third-generation: grandsons John & Mike and son-in-law Keith. Let us make your boating dreams come true!
